DESE New IEP Format
Updates on the New Massachusetts IEP
We are pleased to inform you that this year, Massachusetts it's efforts in working with the new Individualized Education Program (IEP) format. The new IEP is designed to be more user-friendly, with a clearer structure that better aligns with the needs of students, families, and educators. This update aims to improve communication and ensure that every student's educational experience is as effective and tailored as possible. Some of the key features of the new IEP include:
- Enhanced Clarity: The new format is designed to be more straightforward, making it easier to understand and follow.
- More Individualization: The new format includes additional sections focused on assistive technology, English Learning Education, and disability/age related topics.
- Family/Student Input: There is an increased emphasis on family and student involvement, recognizing the critical role that you play in your child’s education and your student’s voice in the IEP process.
