to me
Good evening,
Tonight, the School Committee approved the district plan for reopening in the fall.  It can be accessed here:
This plan is simply a reflection of the thinking on August 4th.  This reopening plan will serve as a foundation for us as we now begin building our school-based plans.  Many people have been working incredibly hard to help us navigate these unprecedented challenges and the help is greatly appreciated.
In terms of next steps, parents will be sent a survey to fill out for each child in the GPS system on Sunday, August 9. Parents will have until Sunday, August 16 to let us know if individual students will be engaged in the hybrid model or the Remote Learning Academy (full remote) in the fall.  Next week, we will be offering two community meetings focused on special education and two separate GPS Community Meetings (all virtual) to provide information and answer questions.  Information will be sent out once the dates and times for those informational meetings are finalized.  Pages 37 and 38 of the reopening plan include frequently asked questions, a link to the previous GPS Community Meeting video and Q&A, and a link to the district's Facebook page. We are also developing a section of our website designed to be the central hub for all information related to the reopening and COVID-related information. We will share this when it is finalized in the next few days.
Please feel free to reach out to me with questions and concerns and I will do my best to get back to you.
