Principal's Message- Learning Opportunities

Hello SGES Families,

Well, we made it to the end of the year.  It feels like it has been so long since we were together, but we know that we did what was needed to protect each other from the virus.  It was quite a different way to end a school year. However, we  all worked together as a team to continue the education of your children/our students.  You all did what you could, when you could, and how you could.  Together we did it!  Thank you.

As I think about this year, we did many wonderful things together.  We began welcoming our Kindergarten students to SGES on a warm summer night with popsicles.  We had a great evening together.  We then held our Kindergarten practice  day in August and students met their teachers, while parents met each other and our PTO members.  We held our Open House Day and welcomed all of our students back to school!  And then, we held our PreSchool Open Houses, too.  We welcomed parents to Back to School Night and Conference Days.

Students rode the buses, walked or rode to school and together we all learned how school works.  We held Octoberfest, walked in our Halloween Parade, celebrated the Holidays with our concert and sing-a-longs, survived early snow days and enjoyed our Book Fair.  We held Spirit Weeks, earned Golden Tickets, ate lunch together, and had fun enrichment activities brought into the school.  We sang with Mrs. Casperaites, our teachers and then with Ms. Jen.  With Ms. Runne, we learned about artists and creating from our hearts.  Mrs. Largesse taught us about teamwork, nutrition and how to move our bodies.  Our classroom teachers and support staff helped us all to learn to read better, write better, speak better, learn better, learn mathematical skills, and most importantly, how to be kind, cooperative, respectful and responsible friends and citizens. And when we needed help, there were teachers and support staff there to help. While we didn’t get to do everything we had planned, the things we did together created memories we will all treasure.

I am so proud of our students, staff and families for creating the community that is South Grafton Elementary School.  While it may be the end of the year, it is not the end of our journey together.  As some of you move on to the next school, know you are always welcome to come back and say ‘Hello’.  For those returning, we can’t wait to see you again. Instead of good-bye, we say, ‘See you all soon!”

From all of us at SGES, we send to you our last video of the year.  Please enjoy!

We have added the link to the schedules HERE so you do not have to search for it.  The schedules can also be found by going to our school web page.  We have separated out the schedules by grade level and will include the choice boards for Kindergarten and Grade 1 as part of the schedule instead of having to click to another link.  New this week is the PT/OT website.  Please check it out!  There are learning tools that apply to all of our students that you may choose to use.

For those looking to find the teacher videos in one place, you can access them at the Grafton Prek1 Learning Youtube Channel.
