Welcome to the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Department!  Family and Consumer Sciences courses act as a bridge, supporting academic subjects and applying them to real life situations.

I teach Foods and NutritionEarly Childhood, Creative Crafts, and American/Regional Foods.  All course expectations are posted on Schoology.   I am also the advisor to the Family and Community Leaders Club (FCL), which meets during Extended Block once a month.

The goal of the Wellness/Family & Consumer Science Department is to help students develop into responsible and productive adults and lifelong learners, by introducing them to real life-related skills that they will use to succeed in society. The courses cover all traditional topics but also stress current topics such as personal wellness, career exploration, and 21st Century parenting. The skills gained in FCS courses may be cultivated into careers. Students can pursue higher education in areas such as education, dietary science, food service, fashion design, interior design, and consumerism.. Course work provides students with the knowledge and the opportunity to explore ways to take positive actions towards their own personal wellness and to develop skills that will allow them to resist peer pressure, manage stress, and resolve conflicts.
