Mrs. Largesse
Welcome to Physical Education (P.E.)! My name is Mrs. Largesse, and I love my job as the P.E. teacher for NGES and SGES! Prior to this position, I enjoyed being a 1st grade classroom teacher at NGES for 6 years. In the Gym, I can combine my love of teaching young learners with my passion for sports, the outdoors, and a healthy active lifestyle.
A little about me: I grew up in Vermont, but fell in love with Central Massachusetts when I came to Clark University for my undergraduate. I earned my Master's of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Clark in 2010, and taught 3rd grade in Worcester for a year, and then first grade in North Grafton for six years. My husband (a high school Physics teacher in Northborough) and I live in Holden. We were thrilled to welcome our first baby, Carl, this August! In addition to playing with Carl, I love to grow vegetables, play guitar, hike, read, kayak, play soccer, and spend time with family and friends. My husband and I enjoy canoeing and skating on our pond in Holden. We also love snowshoeing, ice skating, skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
A little about P.E.: I'm so excited to work with all of the students at North and South Grafton Elementary schools to create a fun, supportive, and engaging P.E. experience! P.E. is an important (and fun and enjoyable!) part of your child's education and North and South Grafton. In PE, children will learn fundamental movement and sports skills, as well as basic wellness concepts such as fitness, nutrition, stretching, deep breathing and yoga. Students will learn to work as a team, to cooperate, to compete, to win and lose. They will be encouraged to try new things to find ways they love to move and be active, and will learn why healthy habits are so important as they grow up.
I'll be in touch monthly via my News from PE newsletter, in which I'll be sharing resources so that you and your family can have some fun with fitness and healthy habits at home. Please be in touch at any time with questions, comments, concerns and feedback. My email is largesser@grafton.k12.ma.us.
