  • Hello North Street Friends,

I love to move.  Back in the day, basketball and track were my thing.  Now that I am all grown up, photography, hiking, walking and gardening are things I do to stay active and fit. This summer my family went on an amazing trip to Nova Scotia and London.  We hunted for fossils and minerals in the Bay of Fundy, rafted a tidal bore and hiked steep cliff sides overlooking the ocean.  In London we saw churches, bridges and castles filled with history and of course, went to see some Harry Potter sites!!!!

I have been a P.E. teacher for more than 26 years and I love teaching at North Street School.  My philosphy is, when a student is happy, red faced, and sweaty, we have done our job well.

It is my hope that your summers were active and healthy and I am looking forward seeing new and old friends.   I have so many new games and ideas to implement,  it will be a blast to trying them out.  Looking forward to an active school year.

    Best,
    Mrs. Peters

  • North Street School recently participated in the Boston Bruins School Assembly Program Powered By BFit!

The Boston Bruins School Assembly is a free program focused on promoting a happy, healthy lifestyle by emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition, perseverance, and physical activity through movement.

Blades, the Bruins Mascot and Boston Bruins Director of Health, Fitness and Wellness John Whitesides ran the students and teachers through fun exercises and caped off the assembly with a shoot out with Blades.

In additon to the assembly, the Bruins organization left a class set of Bauer Street Hockey equipment donated to their physical education department along with small gifts for all students.

  • Jump Rope at North Street School

Students have been working hard learning and practicing jump rope which is new to North Street.  With the music playing, students are practicing forwards and backwards, double-unders and crossovers, counting to 10 to 100.  Achievement is a core value and it is a perfect connection for our 3 week unit.   Students will learn cool jump rope skills and work hard to achieve a different color "belt" card. Each belt becomes more challenging and it is quite an accompliment to earn one.   "The harder you work for something, the greater you will feel when you achieve it"
