Degrees and Certifications:

Aaron Covert

Welcome to my page! My name is Aaron Covert, and I will be your child’s French or Spanish teacher this year. I can’t wait to start this year teaching your child a new language in 7th grade, or expanding their language skills in 8th grade. I am always looking for new ways to teach students and understand that while being a teacher, I will also be a very active student. This year in French or Spanish, we will be working on the major language skills: speaking, writing, listening, and reading, while incorporating thematic culture. Do not be fooled, I will challenge students and push them to go above and beyond the bare minimum so that they develop into proficient language speakers.

I have been in the field of education for 10 years, as I earned my B.A. in French and Francophone Studies from UMASS-Amherst, and my M.A. in French Linguistics and Pedagogy from Middlebury College. I am also completing a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership at Worcester State University. Before starting in Grafton I was a middle school teacher in Belchertown, Massachusetts, and a middle and high school teacher in Leicester, Massachusetts.

One of my favorite hobbies is cooking. For me, it is a wonderful way in which to view the world and experience others’ culture. I am always trying new recipes, and am constantly adding to my repertoire. Don’t hesitate to ask me what I am making at home.
