I was recently hired to work at North Street Elementary School.

I grew up in Somerville, Ma, and knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a nurse. I graduated from nursing school in 1986, and have done many different types of nursing. As a young nurse, I worked in the school system where we lived in Uxbridge, Ma., so that I could have the same schedule as my children.  I went on from there to work a hospital setting, then many years in rehab and long term care.  Being back in the school system is great!  I am finding that working with children is by far the best type of nursing that I have done.

Now that my own children are grown, I feel like I can still have a part in helping to make a difference in a child's life, especially the children who need extra care and help to learn in the best way that they can, and that includes feeling healthy, and supported in whatever way they need to be.  I am very happy to be a part of this great team of teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other nurses, who work so hard to help these students to become their best selves!
