Hi!

My name is Colleen Lavallee and I am so excited to be the first grade special education teacher here at NGES!  I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children so, in 2010, I chose to attend UMass Amherst to obtain my Bachelor’s in Communication Disorders, minoring in Education.  After graduating in 2014, I became a special education paraprofessional in the elementary school setting while simultaneously obtaining my Master’s in Special Education: Moderate Disabilities (pk-8), graduating in December of 2016.  When not in the classroom, I love to spend time outdoors (biking, hiking, taking my kayak to the local lake), spending time with my family and friends, and snuggling up with a good book!
