To prepare all students to be life-long learners and responsible citizens

Principal's Update -March 14, 2018

  • Do you know an Everyday Hero?

    Everyday Hero

    Dear Families,

Each year as we move into the spring the Grafton Special Education Parent Advisory Council holds an evening to recognize Grafton's Everyday Heroes.  The Everyday Hero Award is your opportunity to recognize and show appreciation for the individuals who have made a difference in the life of a child with special needs.

This prestigious award is for any individual who has made a significant contribution in enhancing the life of a student with special needs. Examples include someone who goes above and beyond to support inclusion, ease daily transitions, keep students safe, adapt the school curriculum, support a child's unique learning style, or enhance the social aspect of a student with special needs. In the past, bus drivers, teachers, administrators, cafeteria workers, paraprofessionals, specials teachers (media, art, P.E., music), those in support positions, students, and community employees have been nominated.

To nominate an individual, please click on the link below for more information.  All nominations must be accepted by Friday, March 30th.

I hope you consider recognizing an individual deserving of this wonderful award.

Best wishes for a great week ahead,

    ~ Mr. Wiltshire

With spring not too far away we have an eye on our community garden!  In past years one parent has solely taken on the role of supporting this wonderful learning opportunity for our students.  This year we hope to implement a new volunteer approach, a garden team!  Team members can consist of teachers, parents, or community volunteers, such as grandparents!  Our hope is that through a team the various responsibilities, such as cleaning, raking, planting, watering, harvesting, and winterizing will be spead across many volunteers.  If you, or someone you know, is interested in being a part of the NSS garden team, please email Mr. Wiltshire.
    Information Night
It is hard to believe that it is the time of year when we begin planning for the transition of your sixth grade child into seventh grade. Over the next few weeks, GMS will be sending you instructions to go on to PowerSchool and complete the course registration process. In anticipation of this important process, we ask you now to please take time to review your demograhic informaton on your child's PowerSchool account to ensure it is accurate.

GMS would also like to invite you to the Grade 6 Parent Orientation Night on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:30pm - 7:30pm in the Grafton Middle School Auditorium. Please mark you calendars!

Join us for a night of Minute to Win It Challenge Games for students in grades 5-8. Friday, March 16, 2018 from 7-9 pm $8 at Grafton Middle School. This chaperoned event will include an array of competition style games where students' speed and precision will be put to the test. It will include fan favorites such as cup stacking, along with new challenges to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Fun, games, music and more.

Parents-no need to worry! We make sure you feel safe sending your kids to our events, which are always chaperoned by certified crowd managers. If you're a new parent, feel free to tell us about any concerns you may have at the door. We do want to remind parents and attendees that Operation Friendship maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding bullying and misconduct, and we expect students to dress appropriately. Additionally, for safety we do not allow students to leave our events without a ride home – they cannot walk home from OF events. Should you have any additional questions, please contact Buddy Bartlett at or 508-340-2540.
