Summer 2022 - GHS iPad Deployment Sessions
As you may know, all students at Grafton High School participate in our 1:1 iPad program, where each teacher and student have access to an iPad throughout the school day. This year, as in the past, we will be offering several mandatory iPad deployment sessions (at GHS) for new students at which they will receive their iPad, keyboard case and charger, and be informed of the proper care of the iPad, basic expectations and how to use the device for success in school.

5-12-2022
Good morning,
COVID
Recently, Worcester County moved into the high category for community transmission of COVID. At the district level, we have seen a recent increase in positive cases among students and staff that mirrors the recent increase in positive COVID cases statewide. The School Committee discussed the recent increase in cases on Tuesday evening. The school district is not mandating the use of masks at this time, however, the School Committee strongly recommends that parents, students, and staff consider wearing masks while indoors for the foreseeable future.
The district continues to use air purifiers, open classroom windows, and utilize the at-home testing program in an effort to minimize transmission at school. Additionally, the windows in the school buses will remain open for the duration of the student routes.

On Monday evening, Town Meeting voters approved the use of Community Preservation Act funds to complete the needed funding for a new playground at South Grafton Elementary School. The new playground will include the replacement of the badly deteriorating hardtop, a ramp, an accessible playground structure, fencing, and a rubberized playground surface. Many thanks go out to the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee and the Grafton Disability for their advocacy for this important project. This new playground will be named after Doreen Parker, our retiring principal at SGES!
18-22 Programming
We are excited to announce that our 18-22 Program will be moving out of Grafton High School this summer. The School Committee voted to allow the district to lease space on Worcester Street in North Grafton to house this program in future years. The space will be developed to include program space, a kitchen area, and a working storefront. We are partnering with The Bread Guy Breads in this endeavor with the goal of providing our young adults in this program with an in-house business opportunity. Once the program is established, we will tuition-in one student annually to cover all of the new ongoing program costs associated with housing the program out of the high school. News related to this innovative partnership and our eventual grand opening in the fall will definitely be shared with the community over the coming months.
