Work Permit Directions
DIRECTIONS FOR OBTAINING A WORK PERMIT
Work permits are required by State Law for students under the age of 18. For more information regarding the state law: please visit http://www.mass.gov/lwd/labor-standards/dls/youth-employment/.
Work permits will ONLY be issued electronically; students should not visit the District's central office to obtain a work permit. It is strongly encouraged that the student completes the work permit process.
Students Attending Grafton High School
- Download and print the Work Permit Application linked to the left of these directions.
- Take the Application to the prospective employer to be completed.
- The application must include a Promise of Employment signed by the employer.
- The application must be signed by the minor’s parent or
guardian. - The application must be signed by the minor.
- Applicants under 16 must also have the Physicians Certificate of Health section completed and signed by a physician.
- Complete the Work Permit Form in the PowerSchool Student Portal.
- From a web browser go to https://grafton.powerschool.com/public/home.html.
- Log in with your (student) PowerSchool credentials.
- Click on Forms on the left side navigation pane.
- Click on Work Permit Ages 14-17.
- Complete the form and click submit.
- Scan and email the following documents to [email protected].
- Work Permit Application.
- Proof of Age (exp. Birth Certificate, Drivers License).
- Work permits will ONLY be issued electronically. Please do not visit the Central Office to complete the work permit process.
- Upon receipt of all documents, a Work Permit will be issued and emailed directly to the student.
- The student must sign the document and present it to the employer to be kept on file for the duration of employment.
Students Who DO NOT Attend Grafton High School

- Proof of School Attendance ( exp. School ID, Grade Report).
